Got a toy? Another cat to play with? Some skritch? I might agree to stay...for awhile... Saffron

My sister Natasha and I grew up in San Jose, in a house with lots of people and cats. My first moms were nice, they rescued cats who needed help and found them good homes. We thought they were keeping us forever, but after two years some PEOPLE showed up and took Natasha away. I was outside, but I saw the whole thing. I stayed outside just in case they were coming for me too...but the next morning, when I came in to eat...they got me.

At least I got to be with my sister! but I'm really not sure about these scary beings that captured us, I don't want anything to do with them. I heard one of them say that I was hiding under the couch making molotov cocktails, and he wasn't far wrong!

Here I am behind the couch concocting nefarious plans...

This is a very strange place we're in, and it's hard getting used to. Big rooms, that's not so bad. And there are hardly any other cats, although Bob is evidently the top cat here and wants to be sure it stays that way...he's mean! But he's also old, and I can run way faster than he can.

The people who live here keep telling me that they're my new Mom and Papa. Fat chance! they're noisy and strange and one of them seems to be a MALE, I'm so not used to humans like that! I let them corner me and skritch me from time to time just to throw them off guard, but I really don't want them to think I'm their buddy or anything, at least not yet. There's a nice window in the Papa man's office, though...I like sitting there, even if he's at his desk. Just to look outside, of course, not that I need company or anything. I have my sister for that.

And the food situation is simply not acceptable! I'm a cat who likes my food plentiful and available...and here they only feed us THREE TIMES A DAY. And if we don't eat...the food GOES AWAY until later. This is such a bad idea. I would so much rather sneak out and eat when nobody's around, but I have to eat with the rest of the cats...including Bob, who really doesn't like sharing.

I'm a cat who really likes her chow!
Of course, I'm happy to share with my nice sister Natasha! she's a sweetie.

But then there's Wilson...what a great cat! He's older and bigger than we are, but he's a really nice guy. He even plays with me! we play chase and jump and thumpy-thump and skitter-skitter-skitter. These are especially fun to play in the middle of the night when those PEOPLE are trying to sleep. I'll show them!

And yet...they have such a nice soft bed. And Wilson is there, sometimes. A couple of nights ago, I climbed quietly up on the bed and slept on Mom's feet for a while, that was so nice! and Wilson didn't mind a bit.

Wilson likes those awful PEOPLE. Maybe I should give them a second chance...

Here I am with my new friend Wilson!
