From the book, A Beautiful Mind, by Sylvia
Nasar.
Wow. This one was a real winner. Crowe is
very good in any role where he
plays someone who is not quite able to figure
out how he got in the
situation he's currently in, rather befuddled
by it all...he turns in a
stellar performance as a genius who is also a
paranoid schizophrenic.
The progression of his disease, and his
attempts to fight it, are truly
amazing to watch. The supporting players,
especially Ed Harris, are
excellent, and it gets two stars for romance,
just for the relationship
between him and his wife...so good to see
people acting like adults in
movies, even when they're in love with each
other. The ending is ever so
much better than I expected walking into the
theatre. One of the best
movies of the year.
