Sure, there's a plot, something about outlaws in England trying to put the rightful heir on the throne...but mostly, it's just funny.

Great costumes. Wonderful musical numbers. Danny Kaye. Glynis Johns AND Angela Lansbury back when they were both real honey material. Silly jokes. Danny Kaye. Basil Rathbone doing a wonderful sendup of his villian roles from all those 30s swashbucklers. And did I mention that Danny Kaye is in it? don't want to forget that part, that's all you really need to know.

Truthfully, this is one of his best, right up there with The Secret Life of Walter Mitty...if you want to laugh til it hurts and have the songs running in your head for weeks, this is a good one to watch. Oh, and Danny Kaye is in it, too.
