Rich and powerful stockbroker gets to see what his life would have been like if he had chosen to stay with the woman he loved.

Let me start off by saying that I did like this movie, and wanted to like it more than I did. The premise is good: Nicholas Cage is at the top of the food chain in the stock market, rich, successful, beating women off with a stick. A chance encounter with Don Cheadle (angel?) puts him (briefly) in the life he would have had if he had not gone to London and left Tea Leoni, his true love, behind...a tire salesman in New Jersey but with a beautiful wife and two adorable children, many friends and a good life. He discovers that money isn't everything, and the stage is set for a happy ending.

Cage and Leoni are both serious honeys, very nice to see them together, good chemistry. Not enough of Don Cheadle in this one, too bad! The scenes of Cage trying to figure out what is going on are good, fun to watch.

The blurb on the box says, "Hilarious!". I didn't think so, but it was amusing...rather sad, too, in many ways, esp. the dividing line between suburban life and Cage's 'money is everything' attitude-you can have money and success OR a home and happy family, but not both.

The problem is, even though he finally gets it, and finds her, and she doesn't go to Paris, they've STILL lost 13 years, and the kids and the life that Cage got his glimpse of will never exist. He and Leoni are both older, have careers, and are not of an age to throw it all away and start popping out the kids...and so even though he learned his lesson, it's too late. For both of them, which is kind of hard on her.

And for that matter, why is this all Cage's fault for going to London instead of staying with Leoni? She could have thrown everything aside and gone to London with him, if she felt that strongly about not being parted...

Special features: Nicholas Cage in bikini undies, yum!
