From the novel of the same name by Chuck Palahniuk
Brad Pitt and Ed Norton start a men's barefisted fighting club. And there is SO much more to this movie than that. After a long day running all over the Queen Mary in Long Beach, Ottersis and I settled down for a junk food fest and movies. Her friend Spider Jerusalem joined us, and we all watched From Dusk til Dawn and then this...what an excellent movie night. Because like most of the people I had mentioned it to, I thought this was some kind of import martial arts movie and didn't bother to see it. So the credits come up...and Brad Pitt is in it...Ed Norton...and Helena Bonham Carter. What the heck? I thought...this is a real movie? wow. And, folks, WOW it is. Ed Norton is an auto insurance company guy who decides if defects are worth a recall...a man with no life until he meets Brad Pitt...and then things get really interesting. I am so not going into any details...if you haven't seen it, I don't want to spoil a minute of it. If you have, you know that this is a brilliant psychological study, and like me, probably can't wait to see it again. Come on over, we'll pop a brew and make an evening of it. Thanks for introducing me to this, Spider. It's wonderful. |
