The cast of A Fish Called Wanda (one of the funniest movies EVER) was gathered again 5 years later for another movie, which is the only thing these two movies have in common.

Not as screamingly funny or frenetic or just plain WIERD as Wanda, but a little gem in its own right...and the cute and cuddly animals, what a treat to watch! The main characters are great, and really well developed for a silly comedy...and seeing Kevin Kline play both the father and son, with the resulting personality changes, esp. in their scenes together, what a treat! He's a honey, you betcha.

If you have ever wondered about Mr. Otter's other personality, Historian-on-a-Stick, Michael Palin's character Bugsy in this movie is pretty darn close. Except that Mr. Otter is cuter.

And speaking of cute, Jamie Lee Curtis! Yowza! Serious honey!

Watch it with the kleenex close at hand, you'll laugh til you cry.

Note on the DVD: it's pan-and-scan, an abomination. There is NO widescreen version available, so I'd recommend renting it rather than buying it. Want to know more about movie aspect ratios? check out Gatadd's excellent description.
