A guy has superpowers but is disliked by the very people he saves every day (in LA, that was fun)
because he destroys property every time he stops the bad guys. Enter a PR man...
I went to see this with Ottersis and her friend Spider Jerusalem...we had had a nice Fourth of July, complete with sister time and a wonderful Eritrean dinner, and went to the movies while everyone else was shooting off fireworks. Sweet! I had asked to see this since A) Mr. Honeypants (aka Will Smith) is in it, and B) I had seen the previews and they intrigued me...the ordinary lives of superheroes is a theme I like, and this looked promising. Silly, but promising. And I was not wrong. It was silly...until about halfway through, when the plot got a little twistier than expected and WAY more interesting. And I'm not going to say any more about this, except that the trailers were brilliantly created to say WAY less than they could have, the second half of the movie was unexpectedly excellent and I liked the whole thing very, very much. |
