This one was cute. It got three explodos for the chase through the caverns, that was GREAT. Overall, pretty predictable...the usual characters, the gruff guy with a past, the talkative and annoying sidekick, the bad guy who is won over, the cute kid who doesn't talk. Personally, I think Eddie Murphy took the annoying sidekick thing to its limits in Shrek, and filmmakers need to find a new characterization for this role...

Mr. Otter (also known as Historian on a Stick) liked the fact that the humans were shown living/traveling in a very small group, he said that was correct for the time period. The animation of the people wasn't quite as good as the animals, a little too stylized and blocky, a little awkward.

Lots of funny jokes, the sabretooth squirrel was great as a repeating motif, pretty darn good animation (the hair on Manny the Mammoth looked REAL), amusing brain candy without much depth. This one will be spawning many straight to video sequels for years to come...
