A year in the life of a family in St. Louis in 1903.

OK, it's schmaltzy. Yes, the girls are too old to be playing teenagers. Sure, Margaret O'Brien is so painfully cute and adorable you want to rip her head right off. Of course it's awash in nostalgia for past ("better") times. I'll even agree that it gets silly in places...nevertheless, this is a great movie.

Good songs, a few good dance numbers, a 'feel good' plot with a lot of laughs, Judy in one of her best roles, excellent supporting actors, and a script with a lot of humor and just plain fun in it.

If you like musicals, you'll like this...if you like It's A Wonderful Life, you'll like this...otherwise, run away as fast as you can, you'll hate it.
