What is the secret of the wax museum? and who has
been stealing all those
bodies from the city morgue? and what is going to
happen to Fay Wray?
Oh, come on, you already figured it out...but it's a whole bunch of fun anyway. A silly but extremely well done plot about a mad artist and a beautiful model, filmed in a really cool two color Technicolor process (adds a lot to the atmospheric chills) and (at least in the opening sequence) the fun of watching the human stand-ins for the wax figures trying not to breathe while the camera is on them. Fay Wray is beautiful and ethereal, and the plot, while a little over the top, holds together well. This is included in the DVD of the (not as good) Vincent Price remake of this movie, called House of Wax |
