Oh, come on, you already figured it out...but it's a whole bunch of fun anyway. A silly but extremely well done plot about a mad artist and a beautiful model, filmed in a really cool two color Technicolor process (adds a lot to the atmospheric chills) and (at least in the opening sequence) the fun of watching the human stand-ins for the wax figures trying not to breathe while the camera is on them.

Fay Wray is beautiful and ethereal, and the plot, while a little over the top, holds together well.
