The story of Colorado's most famous cannibal,
Alferd Packer. Released under
the title Alferd Packer: The Musical but
nobody outside Colorado knew who he
was...Mr. Otter and I watched this with Bad Taste, a seriously wierd
film fest.
This was Trey Parker and Matt Stone's first effort, and it has a lot going for it...the songs, although not Rodgers and Hammerstein, are amusing, the story moves along well, and there's enough blood and body parts for an Otter to stay entertained. Trey Parker wrote this, directed it, and wrote the songs, and I guess because he was doing the Mel Gibson thing and (unlike Mr. Gibson) didn't want to hog all the glory, he's listed as Juan Schwartz in the credits, but it's obviously him playing Alferd Packer. Silly and amusing, not for the weak of stomach, but good to pass an evening with; the last number especially is hilarious. |
