We chez Otter throw a big summer party every year- we send out about 150 invites, and get 25-80 people. And this party has a theme every year, and last year we had said, DOH! we've never done a LIBRARIAN THEME.

So we did. And as I always do, I created a game for the party. This one was Name the Librarian- one side of the paper had famous librarians from history, the other had librarians in the media.

And one of the pictures I found was a picture of Parker Posey in Party Girl...which I had never heard of, so I ordered it on Netflix right away.

We were visiting GATADD right before the party, so I brought the dvd along, and we watched it...and it was a lot of fun.

Parker Posey is always adorable, and a good actress. She throws wild parties with drugs at the apartment she shares with a roomie, and gets thrown in jail. Her godmother, who is a LIBRARIAN, bails her out, and gives her a job as a clerk/page (checking out and reshelving books.)

And she rises to the challenge, has a steamy romance with a felafel vendor, and turns her life around.

Two things I loved about this movie:
1. Hot steamy sex in the library. Woo hoo!
2. Making the distinction between a professional librarian and the clerks/pages clear. And also how important that master's degree is!
