I was visiting Ottersis and she showed me this, and I liked it very much. It's an original anime movie by the people who did Akira, but 16 years later the animation technology has advanced considerably- the shading and depth of the images reminded me of Miyazaki.

And it's steampunk, which Ottersis likes a lot. Me too, to a certain extent.

A good story: mysterious bad guys out to rule the world, the boy with family secrets who must stop them, the annoying girl who gets less annoying as the film goes on.

Well worth watching!
